The collaboration between ‘’Hope for Children’’ CRC Policy Center CRC Policy Center and
the University of Nicosia (UNIC) under the “Bridges by Mentors” project has been a
valuable and impactful initiative. The implementation of a structured group mentoring
program provided a meaningful framework for engaging youth aged 12–18 through
interactive and experiential activities.
The project successfully achieved its core objective of fostering personal development and
enhancing the social skills of participating beneficiaries. Through tailored activities,
including group discussions, team-building exercises, board games, visits, and activities
the young participants were given the opportunity to strengthen their communication,
cooperation, and self-expression skills in a safe and supportive environment. The presence
of trained mentors contributed significantly to building trust, encouraging active
participation, and promoting positive role modelling.
From the beneficiaries’ perspective, participants demonstrated engagement, improved
confidence and willingness to collaborate with peers. The group mentoring approach
further enhanced peer interaction, fostering a sense of belonging and inclusion among
participants.
Additionally, the structured monitoring processes ensured continuous feedback and
improvement throughout the program and allowed for adjustments and ensured that the
needs of both mentors and mentees were effectively addressed.
Overall, the collaboration can be considered successful, as it created a positive learning
environment and contributed to the holistic development of the young beneficiaries.
