Hear from John Andrew Amissah, an international student from Ghana!

Studying abroad has always been a life dream and being able to fulfil such a dream in Howest University of Applied Sciences has been worthwhile. As an international student I get to experience different organisational cultures and cultures of other international students.

I am currently studying in a new field of Global Business Management as a postgraduate. As a graduate from KNUST in Ghana, experiencing life and a different educational culture has been a bit challenging. Like all challenges I face, I take them on like new adventure with determination, enthusiasm and grit.

Howest has a lot of possibilities and opportunities for international students. I have made new connections, gained new insights and experiences that foster my character and intellectual development.

Bridges by Mentors is such an example of opportunity. Meeting like-minded people from different backgrounds collectively working together to tutor and mentor each other as well as others. It has been quite a journey of ups and downs full of endless surprises and developments. I look forward to experiencing more as an International student in Howest in the city of Bruges, Belgium. Taking the right and necessary steps is important to achieve any worthwhile goal. So, don’t stop. Just do it.
